Other Projects

While we continue to wait for the arrival of our Passagemaker kit, we started on some other projects.

Fixed the lighting in the basement - all work areas are now nicely illuminated.

Started drying out the Sunfish.  For those unfamiliar with Sunfish construction - the hull is fiberglass wrapped around flotation foam.  Although the boat has a drain plug, over the years moisture starts to permanently make its way into the foam cells, over time this can add significant weight to the boat.  By cutting access ports into the bow and stern we can flow air through the hull, and hopefully reverse the process.  We will even accelerate this by using de-humidfyed air that will be ducted in using dryer hose.

Clean the boat up a bit:

and the de-humidyfier that we will use:

Will post some more pictures of what the hooked up apparatus looks like next weekend.

Kit should ship on Friday - can't wait - this is worse than Christmas as a kid.
